About LJD Corporation

Our Story of Transformation

An accredited social enterprise based in Sabah, Malaysia — turning plastic waste into tourism products while restoring land and empowering marginalised communities.

Our Story

From Landfill to Livelihood

LJD Corporation is an accredited social enterprise based in Sabah, Malaysia, dedicated to transforming plastic waste into tourism products and fashion accessories — from handbags to jewellery — featuring traditional Sabahan motifs.

Our work centres on the Kayu Madang landfill, where we recycle and upcycle materials such as polypropylene straps into wearable art. We also lead land restoration efforts on site, compensating waste scavengers for their participation in rehabilitation initiatives — turning environmental recovery into a source of dignified income.

It's a cycle we're proud to interrupt: waste that would otherwise sit for centuries instead becomes employment, skills, and beautifully made products that carry Sabah's story to the world.

500
Years plastic takes to decompose

Every product we make interrupts that cycle — turning centuries of waste into livelihoods today.
